What is Transmedia?
Transmedia is a form of storytelling that extends a story or experience across multiple platforms and formats. Instead of simply telling a linear story in a single medium (such as a book, movie, or video game), transmedia leverages a variety of media to build a richer and more complex narrative universe. The concept was popularized by scholar Henry Jenkins, who defined transmedia as a process where “integral elements of a narrative are systematically dispersed across multiple delivery channels for the purpose of creating a unified and coordinated entertainment experience.”
